After the French-teaching Tevfik Fikret High School, Mr. Ecvet Sayer continued his education in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, in Department of Economics and Industrial Relations in Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey. He began his career by spending most of his vacation time since 10-ten-year-old working and observing activities in oil fields owned by his family. He also engaged actively in business for 15 years by the automotive company which he founded in university years.

Following the end of his military duty in 1984, Mr. Sayer began to work in Aladdin Middle East Ltd. and paved the way of opening to the international market after he restructed the technical and administrative structure. He achieved that GYP, which he is also one of the founders in 1998, to become the leader of the local companies in Turkish E&P sector.

Mr. Sayer is the Chairman of GYP and Ersan Petrol Sanayi A.S., Member of the Board of Aladdin Middle East Ltd. and Transmediterranian Ltd., as well as a member of NGOs such as PETFORM (Petroleum Platform Association) and TABA (Turkish American Businessmen Association). Mr. Sayer is married with two children.

Mr. Cem Sayer has been engaged with oil and gas exploration and production projects in Turkey since 1989. He graduated from Richmond University in the United Kingdom in 1989 where he obtained a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Economics, with International Business as his area of concentration. He also attended various courses in the USA on petroleum economy and drilling practices.

Mr. Sayer’s field of expertise has been dealing with international projects and contracts, legislative and financial issues as well as corporate restructuring and institutionalization process of the company. The accomplishments included successful utilization of the company to international drilling contracts outside Turkey as well as efficient and profitable appraisal of discovered oil fields in Turkey. Mr. Sayer has given particular emphasis to effective team work and a uniform Board level support and commitment to company policies and fiscal program.

He is one of the founding partners of Güney Yıldızı Petrol Üretim Sondaj Müteahhitlik ve Ticaret A.Ş. and serving as Executive Vice-President ever since its establishment in 1998.

Mr. Sayer individually is one of the five founding members of PETFORM (Petroleum Platform Association) which was established by and between operating oil and gas companies in Turkey to voice out industry opinion and perspective towards the government and related bodies. He served as Vice-Chairman and led the Exploration and Production Group for five years between 2000 and 2006. He played an active role in the preparation and negotiation process of the Natural Gas Market Law, Petroleum Market Law and the Petroleum Law of Turkey. He is an active member of AIPN (Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, Houston – Texas), Energy Institute (London – England), International Who’s Who Historical Society (Washington DC – USA), American Business Forum in Turkey (ABFT, Istanbul – Turkey) and Turkish American Businessmen’s Association (TABA, Istanbul – Turkey). Mr. Sayer is married with three children.

Ms. Jale Ebru Akad earned her B.A. degree in English Language and Literature from Bilkent University, Ankara in 1994. After her graduation, she attended a 2 year intensive programme concentrated specifically on Business Law, International Business and Management Skills and Practices. Also, has attended non-technical courses on drilling and petroleum management.

She has been working in the company since 1996 focusing particularly on project budgeting, preparing economics and AFE’s and working with JOAs. Ms. Akad serves as the Member of the Board and Director in the company.

Mr. Koray Ayvali, a ’95 graduate from Ankara University, Law Faculty, has begun to practice law as legal adviser of a labour union engaged in energy sector, after completion of law apprenticeship and military duty. Mr. Ayvali has been working as an independent legal adviser and attorney at law for Sayer Group of Companies since 2002.

Mr. Ayvali has participated in several law education programs including import-export, construction agreements and arbitration law, labour law, human resources and international commercial contracts. Since 2010 he is a member of the Board of Directors of Guney Yildizi Petrol Uretim Sondaj Muteahhitlik ve Tic. A.S., and Ersan Petrol Sanayii A.S.. Mr. Ayvali is married and has one child.
